INCIDENT: Possession of Internet Child Pornographic Material (CSAM) During Operation Online Guardian
LOCATION: City of Grand Terrace
SUSPECT: Christopher Monroy, 38-years-old, resident of Grand Terrace
SUMMARY: On Thursday, August 22, 2024, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Central Station, participated in Operation Online Guardian, sponsored by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
One component of the operation included investigating allegations of possession and distribution of inappropriate Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) via the internet. The NCMEC forwards CyberTips to local law enforcement agencies who investigate the allegation(s).
Deputies and detectives assigned to Central Station executed the service of a search warrant at the home of Christopher Monroy. Monroy was the subject of multiple CyberTips forwarded to Central Station for investigation. From the search warrant, items of evidence were recovered related to the investigation and led to the arrest of Monroy.
Monroy was arrested for violation of PC 311.11, Possession of Internet Child Pornography. He was transported and booked at Central Detention Center in lieu of $30,000.00 bail.
The above investigation was forwarded to the Office of the District Attorney for review and filing.
