The Montgomery Police Department urges residents to utilize caution when purchasing items on social media such as Facebook.  There has been an increase in hackers utilizing legitimate accounts to scam victims in purchasing items for sale.  Generally criminals utilize online payment methods such as zelle, cash app, etc to conduct such transactions.  Please utilize caution, even with accounts that you may be familar with.  If you require a safe meet up location to conduct transactions, the Montgomery Municipal Building parking lot provides a safe location.
