On August 28, 2024, at approximately 5:55 p.m., Fremont Police Officers were dispatched to the 43000 block of Osgood Road to the report of a major injury collision between a passenger vehicle and a motorcyclist. Fremont Police Department Officers arrived on scene and began performing life-saving measures on the injured motorcyclist. Fremont Fire Department personnel soon took over medical care of the injured motorcyclist, but unfortunately, the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries on scene.
The Fremont Police Department Traffic Investigations Unit responded and assumed the collision investigation. The preliminary investigation reveals the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Osgood Road, approaching a controlled intersection. The driver of the passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on Osgood Road and made a left turn. The motorcyclist then collided with the front end of the passenger vehicle.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but drug or alcohol impairment does not appear to be a factor. The driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
This is Fremont’s sixth fatal traffic collision in 2024.
