Look for increased pedestrian & vehicular traffic SATURDAY in the area of the DDA Chili Cook-Off & Open Houses
Join us for a fun-filled community festival featuring a wide range of activities and entertainment for all ages. The event includes Police and Fire Open Houses, a Department of Public Works Touch-A-Truck, children's activities like bouncers, and much more. Enjoy live performances by four bands, a chili competition, beer, and special activities hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department.
Highlights of the Festival:
- Chili Competition: Watch as 20 teams compete for cash prizes up to $500. Vote for your favorite chili, but arrive early—the chili goes fast!
- Family Fun: Enjoy a wagon ride to the local Police and Fire Department Open Houses, rock wall, and children's activities, including bouncers and games.
- Car and Motorcycle Show: Marvel at some of the best muscle cars and motorcycles on the streets.
- Live Entertainment: Four live bands will keep the atmosphere lively throughout the day.
- Cornhole Tournament: Test your skills and compete in the cornhole tournament.
- Beer Tent: Relax and enjoy a variety of beers.
Event Details:
- Date and Time: September 7th from 10 am until 10 pm
- Location: Northeast corner of Ford Rd and Middlebelt Rd in the Garden City Town Center Plaza parking lot, just north of Detroit Metro Airport, and minutes from I-275, I-75, I-96, and I-94.
- Parking: Parking Availiable in the Town Center Parking Lot. Additional Free parking is available at Garden City High School, 6500 Middlebelt until 5:00 pm, with free shuttle service to the event courtesy of Nankin Transit.

Every year, we invite local bands to join our event, and this year, we're excited to announce the addition of an extra band to our lineup.

- Incurables (5:00 pm to 7:30 pm)
- Maybe June (8:00 pm to 10:00 pm)
Proceeds Benefit Local Charities:
Support our community by participating in this event, with proceeds benefiting local charities like Garden City Hockey Association, Straight Farmhouse Museum, and the Garden City Community Coalition.
