AmarIllo Police are requesting the community avoid the area of the 1300 block of Avondale this morning until further advised. The entire block is closed due to an active homicide investigation. We ask that if you are travelling in that area of town, you find an alternate route. We will update you when the road has opened back up and provide more information on the incident as well.
