UPDATE: DTE Crews continue to work to correct Sub-Station Transformer - Temporary Generators in place for time being as repairs ongoing.
UPDATE ON TRANSFORMER ON WEST ROAD SUB STATION:
Dear Residents,
I am pleased to inform you that most power has been restored overnight, thanks to the dedicated efforts of DTE crews. They have provided temporary power to the affected areas while continuing to work on fully restoring power to those still experiencing outages. A temporary generator has been brought in to handle the majority of the outage, allowing our residents to regain electricity while the damaged infrastructure is being repaired.
Although this incident was challenging, it has highlighted the urgent need for infrastructure upgrades, which are now being addressed. These improvements should help prevent similar outages in the future.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to DTE for their tireless work overnight, providing hourly updates and working closely with me to minimize the impact on our community. I also want to thank our residents for their patience during this stressful time.
For those of you still without power, please reach out to me if you need any assistance. Township Hall remains available for any electrical needs such as charging cell phones, laptops, medical devices, or restroom use.
A special thanks to our Fire Department for their quick action in mitigating the situation and to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office for their increased patrols during the outage.
Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation.
Best regards,
