Excessive Heat Warning from September 4 to 6
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for Los Angeles County, including the Western San Gabriel Valley, from September 4 to 6. Temperatures could exceed 110°F, with high humidity making it feel even hotter.
Cooling Center
The San Gabriel Library (500 S Del Mar Ave) will be open as a cooling center with modified hours:
• Wednesday, September 4: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Thursday, September 5: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Friday, September 6: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Heat Safety Tips:
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Limit outdoor activities: Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Those working outdoors or in PPE should take regular breaks and watch for heat stress.
Vehicle safety: Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
Know the signs: Recognize heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Call 9-1-1 for any suspected heat-related emergencies.
Check on vulnerable individuals: This includes seniors, those with chronic conditions, pregnant women, individuals who live alone, children, pets, and outdoor workers.
Stay informed: Monitor for potential power outages and check the National Weather Service for weather updates at weather.gov/lox.
