Wilmington Police have arrested a man and woman on drug charges following an investigation.
Beginning in August, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 1200 block of Pleasant Street. On September 4, at 10:20 a.m., police executed a search warrant in that block. Upon arrival, 33-year-old Antonio Wright fled from the area, and following a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody without incident. Police then took 30-year-old Brooklyn Owens into custody without incident, and recovered 3.731 grams of heroin, and $603.
Wright has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $38,000 cash-only bail.
Owens has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Maintaining a Drug Property
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released after posting $5,000 secured bail.
