Activity for September 6-8, 2024. Officers responded to 225 calls for service, made 20 arrests, and 60 traffic stops.

September 6, 2024:

  • Officer Tripp was dispatched to the 300 block of Van Buren Street for a personal welfare check. A 30-year-old male was arrested for parole violation.
  • Officer Allison responded to the Courthouse for a warrant pick-up. A 53-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
  • Officer Elston and Detective Klimmer met with deputies from Shiawassee County for a warrant pick-up. A 25-year-old male was lodged at JSO on an outstanding felony warrant.
  • Officer Elston was dispatched to the Courthouse for a warrant arrest. A 26-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
  • Officer Marcum responded to the Jackson Crossing Mall for a subject shoplifting. The 15-year-old male subject was apprehended, and turned over to a parent. The stolen merchandise was returned.
  • Officers visited several schools during the day.
  • Officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute on Warwick Court. A 15-year-old male was lodged at JCYC for domestic assault, and resisting and obstructing.
  • Officers responded to Marshall Street and Whitney Street for shots fired. Casings and a discarded firearm were located in the area. Charges will be sought on a 21-year-old male for being a felon in possession of a firearm; possessing a stolen firearm; and reckless discharge of a firearm.
  • Cadet Smith located a vehicle that had been reported stolen in the 100 block of Damon Street. Officer Schram responded to the area and took over the investigation. The vehicle was impounded at the owner’s request.
  • Sergeant Burkart attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Teneyck Street and Page Avenue, but the vehicle fled. The driver was arrested at East High Street and South Elm Avenue for fleeing and eluding, as well as several outstanding warrants.
  • Officer Soloman conducted a traffic stop at North West Avenue and Hallett Street. The 18-year-old female driver was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
  • Sergeant Burkart conducted a traffic stop in the area of Van Buren Street and Homecrest Road. A large amount of narcotics were located inside the vehicle. The 33-year-old male driver was transported to the hospital. Charges will be sought on the male for possessing narcotics. A 30-year-old female was arrested for conditional bond violation, and an outstanding felony warrant.
  • Sergeant Burkart conducted a traffic stop at East Louis Glick Highway and North Mechanic Street. The 41-year-old male driver was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants.
  • Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of East Washington Avenue for disorderly subjects. A 26-year-old male was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon; possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number; and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
  • Officer Vernier responded to a domestic dispute in the 200 block of North Dwight Street. A 36-year-old male was arrested for domestic strangulation.
  • Officer Soloman conducted a traffic stop near Third Street and West Biddle Street. A 36-year-old male received a citation for driving with a suspended license. A 26-year-old female received a citation for allowing a suspended driver to drive.
  • Officer Goble conducted a property security check in the 300 block of North Wisner Street.
September 7, 2024:    
  • Sergeant Mosier and Detective Tinklepaugh responded to Warwick Court for a warrant pick-up. A 30-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
  • Officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of Taylor Street. A 15-year-old male was lodged at JCYC for domestic assault; resisting and obstructing; and assaulting a police officer.
  • Officer Soloman conducted a traffic stop near South Jackson Street and West Cortland Street. The 61-year-old male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
  • Officer Panther conducted a traffic stop at East Franklin Street and Warwick Court. The 27-year-old female driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
September 8, 2024:
  • Officer Debczak responded to the 700 block of Union Street for a domestic situation. A 26-year-old female was arrested for domestic assault.
  • Officer Reasoner was dispatched to a personal welfare check near South Jackson Street and West Addison Street. A 43-year-old female was arrested for possessing open intoxicants, and resisting and obstructing.
  • Officer Tenney made contact with subjects in the 200 block of West Michigan Avenue. A 34-year-old male was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon; possessing narcotics; and an outstanding felony warrant.
  • Officer Vernier responded to the 300 block of Steward Avenue for a breaking and entering report. A 33-year-old male was arrested for entering without permission, and multiple conditional bond violations.
  • Officer Schram made contact with subjects in the 1500 block of East Michigan Avenue. A 47-year-old female was arrested for possession of narcotics. A 45-year-old male received a citation for possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
  • Officer Soloman conducted a traffic stop at East Michigan Avenue and North Dettman Road. The 38-year-old male driver was arrested for possession of open intoxicants, and driving while intoxicated. The 39-year-old male passenger was arrested by Blackman Township PSOs for resisting and obstructing, and several outstanding warrants.
