INCIDENT: PC 187 - Murder
LOCATION: 11400 Block of Hartford Lane, Unincorporated Montclair
SUSPECT(S): Martin Torres-Espindola, 57-years-old, Resident of Montclair
VICTIM(S): Maria Torres, 54-years-old, Resident of Montclair
SUMMARY:
On Friday, September 6, 2024, at about 12:09 p.m., deputies from Chino Hills responded to a residence in 11400 block of Hartford Lane after the reporting party indicated the suspect, Martin Torres-Espindola, killed his wife, Maria Torres. When deputies arrived at the location, they found Maria Torres inside the home with stab wounds. Emergency medical personnel also responded and pronounced Maria Torres deceased.
Martin Torres-Espindola was also inside the house and was found with self-inflicted injuries. Torres-Espindola was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries and released.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded and assumed the investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, Martin Torres-Espindola was arrested and booked in at the West Valley Detention Center where he remains without bail.
