Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges.
On September 5, at approximately 1:02 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 2300 block of North Market Street when they observed a male subject engaged in drug-related activity. Police made contact with 50-year-old Mawami Barber, who was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered 6.6 grams of crack cocaine, .819 grams of heroin, 3.5 grams of marijuana, and 4 Suboxone strips.
Barber has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Two Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released after posting $9,200 secured bail.
