Attention Residents of Richwood and Fenwick Mountain
The City of Richwood and Fenwick Mountain PSD has issued a MANDATORY EMERGENCY WATER CONSERVATION. Due to the lack of rain, the City of Richwood has begun to siphon water from Summit Lake and all customers need to take action. Please limit unnecessary water use.
- No watering outside shrubbery, trees, grass, plants or any other vegetation except from watering can, not exceeding 3 gallons.
- No washing vehicles, trailers or any other mobile equipment
- No washing streets, driveways, parking lots service station or any other exterior services
- Only serve water in restaurants when requested
- Turn off ornamental water use (fountains, artificial waterfalls, etc)
- No flushing sewers or hydrants
- Do not use fire hydrants unless deemed necessary for public safety
- No filling swimming pools requiring more than 5 gallons of water
- Limit laundry and dishwasher use
- Shorten shower times,
- Turn off water when brushing your teeth or shaving
- drink bottled water
- Check for leaks around your home
- Limit toilet flushing
- Don’t leave water running while washing dishes by hand.
Per City of Richwood - Violators will be held accountable by Code Enforcement.
