Gilroy Police Department detectives are currently investigating two shootings that occurred late on Monday night.
On September 9, 2024, at 9:22 p.m., Gilroy police officers responded to reports of a fight with possible gunshots near the intersection of First Street and Hanna Street. Officers learned that an adult male related to the call had been transported, by a private party, to an area hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. He is expected to survive. At 10:46 p.m., officers received a call of a second shooting at a residence on the 7100 block of Church Street. No one was injured, and it is unknown at this time if both are related.
