One person died in traffic crash involving a motorcycle yesterday.

DETAILS: On September 10, 2024, at approximately 10:30 am, Officers were dispatched to a major crash involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle at Soncy and W. Amarillo Blvd. Upon their arrival, they found a white 2024 CF Moto sport Motorcycle was Northbound on Soncy driven by Andrew Spring, male, age 28. A 2022 Mazda 9 driven by a female, age 68, had been driving southbound on Soncy and was making an eastbound turn onto W. Amarillo Blvd. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Mazda causing the motorcycle rider to be ejected. Mr. Spring suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he died as result of the injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Mazda was not injured. A passenger in the Mazda suffered minor injuries. Potter County Justice of the Peace Robert Taylor responded to the scene and ordered an autopsy. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
