Two Ontario Residents Arrested for Drug Related Offenses after Deputies Contact Them in an Evacuation Warning Zone

LOCATION: Mountain Avenue north of Euclid Avenue, San Antonio Heights

SUSPECT: Vincent Olivas, age 32, a resident of Ontario
Melissa Segura, age 23, a resident of Ontario
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, throughout the evening, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department completed numerous patrols in the Mt. Baldy and San Antonio Heights areas. At about 2:26 a.m., a deputy conducting this patrols located a suspicious vehicle illegally parked in an area under an evacuation warning due to the Bridge Fire. During the contact, Vincent Olivas, age 32, and Melissa Segura, age 23, both residents of Ontario, were found in possession of suspected fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and other items which indicated the subjects may have been in the area to commit theft. Additionally, deputies recovered wild opossums from the suspect’s vehicle and learned they had obtained them from the wilderness. The opossums were unharmed and released back into the wild. Both suspects were arrested and booked into jail for possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing fentanyl.
