Calhoun County Weather Update

Overview: A Tropical Storm has been strengthening over the Northwest Gulf of Mexico and is forecast to make landfall across east-central Louisiana tonight where it then will be classified as a hurricane. Although Francine path is not directly over Calhoun County, we will be close enough to the center of the system to experience rainbands that will pose risks for gusty winds, heavy rainfall and a few tornadoes.

Future updates will be sent out if needed.

Highlights: Possibility for tornadoes, a wind advisory has been set as well

Tornado:
• What: We will be in a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) for brief tornadoes
• When: Thursday 10 AM to 9 PM on Thursday.
Wind:
• What: A wind advisory has been issued for Calhoun County. East winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
• When: Wednesday Midnight – Thursday Midnight
Flooding:
• What: 1-1.5" of rainfall with locally higher amounts. Isolated flooding is possible.
• When: Late Tonight, through Thursday night.
