Sexual Assault Suspect Apprehended 
LOCATION: 701 Charter Street, Redwood City
Spring Street & Scott Avenue, Redwood City
DATE/TIME: September 11, 2024, 06:13 P.M.
On September 10, 2024, at approximately 1:41 P.M., Redwood City Police Officers responded to Hoover School located at 701 Charter Street in Redwood City on the report of an unknown adult male contacting female juveniles and asking them to get in his car. Although previously unreported, Officers learned this had occurred on multiple occasions over the last year with at least two different juveniles. Video surveillance in the area captured a vehicle believed to belong to the suspect. Officers canvased the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
On September 11, 2024 at approximately 6:13 P.M., Redwood City Police Detectives located the suspect in the area of Spring Street and Scott Avenue in Redwood City. The suspect was identified as 43 year old Redwood City resident Erick Vasquez.
Vasquez was later booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for the following charges: Penal Code 288(a) – Lewd and Lascivious acts with a minor and Penal Code 288.3(a) – Communicate with a Minor to Commit Lewd Act.
