Public Safety was called to Pierce Middle School this afternoon at approximately 5:15pm on a report that an unknown person was seen running through the hallways. Officers arrived and did a sweep of the school and grounds. Officers and school staff reviewed video footage of the timeframe and were unable to substantiate the claim. Public Safety is confident that there is no current threat to staff, students or the surrounding community. Public Safety will have an increased presence at our schools in an abundance of caution. We would like to thank the staff of GPPSS for their assistance and Public Safety Departments of Grosse Pointe Park and Grosse Pointe for their quick response.
