Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 09/12/2024 at approximately 9:20 P.m.  his Office was called to investigate a personal injury crash near the intersection Cassopolis Rd and US 12, in Mason Township, Cass County Michigan. 
 
Investigation shows that 32-year-old Union Michigan resident, Andrew Trotter, was traveling eastbound on US 12. Trotter lost control of the motorcycle running off the roadway. Trotter was thrown from the motorcycle and came to a rest in the ditch. The motorcycle continued on, hitting a rock  before overturning and coming to a rest on the shoulder of the roadway. Trotter was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries that had occurred from the crash.
 
Trotter was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. Assisting Cass County Sheriffs Office in this crash was Ontwa Township Police Department, SEPSA Ambulance and Porter Township Fire.
