Fall Flushing to Begin September 16, 2024
Collingswood will conduct town-wide hydrant flushing over a two-week period between the hours of 9am and approximately 2pm in neighborhoods beginning Monday, September 16, 2024. Residents living in the surrounding blocks should avoid using water during these hours. In the morning, it is best to run water from a tub (cold water side only) or an outside hose spigot to prevent any unsettled mineral content from getting trapped in faucet screens. We thank you for your patience as we perform this important and necessary task.
See the complete neighborhood flushing schedule here.
Collingswood periodically conducts hydrant flushing in the Borough as part of a water main flushing program designed to remove natural minerals like iron and calcium that can accumulate at the bottom of water mains. This operation may cause temporary discoloration in your water supply and can affect water pressure. If discoloration occurs, allow your water to run for a short period of time, and the problem should clear itself. Please be assured that, although the water may appear discolored, it is safe for human use.
