Waldwick Water Department: PFAS Remediation Update 
The Waldwick Water Department has Completed all Remedial Actions and has Resolved the Violation/Situation
The Waldwick Water Department previously notified you regarding the Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctanesulfonic Acid (PFOS) Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) exceedances on June 9, 2024.
We have completed installation of the necessary treatment to remove these compounds from the drinking water and placed the new systems in service in early July 2024. Samples collected on July 9 and July 16 demonstrate that the water provided by our water system is now below detection for PFOA and PFOS at all locations.
Our previous Running Annual Average (RAA) for PFOA reported on June 9, 2024 was 0.016 μg/L for TP005011 (Well 3), 0.019 μg/L for TP006013 (Well 4), 0.018 μg/L for TP007015 (Well 5), and 0.021 μg/L for TP009019 (Well 7), and now treated samples show PFOA concentrations are below detection at each location and that our system is in compliance with the MCL of 0.014 μg/L.
Our previous RAA for PFOS reported on June 9, 2024 showed that our system initially exceeded the PFOS MCL at TP008017 (Well 6) in 2021 at 0.0138 μg/L prior to the installation of temporary treatment. Concentrations of PFOS from Well 6 have been below detection since August 26, 2021 when temporary treatment was placed in service. Well 6 has now been upgraded to include permanent treatment and treated samples show PFOS concentrations continue to be below detection and that our system is in compliance with the PFOS MCL of 0.013 μg/L.
This notice is our final notification regarding this violation(s) to ensure our consumers are aware that the water being provided is in compliance with the PFOA and PFOS MCLs.
