On September 12, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Fremont Police Officers responded to the area of Mowry Avenue and Crosspointe Common to the report of a major injury vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle. Fremont PD Officers arrived on scene and began providing emergency medical care to the injured motorcyclist. Fremont Fire Department soon arrived on scene and took over medical aid. The motorcyclist ultimately succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Fremont Police Department Traffic Investigations Unit responded and assumed the collision investigation. The preliminary investigation reveals the passenger vehicle was traveling east bound on Mowry Avenue and moved into the designated left turn pocket to make a left turn onto Crosspointe Common. The passenger vehicle had just reached the driveway apron of Crosspointe Common when the motorcyclist, who was traveling west bound on Mowry Avenue, struck the front portion of the passenger vehicle.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but drug or alcohol impairment do not appear to be a factor. The driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
This is Fremont’s eighth fatal traffic collision in 2024.
