INCIDENT: PC 664/187 - Attempted Murder
LOCATION: 30 Block of Zoe Lane, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Steven Zastrow, 61-year-old, Resident of Needles
VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL
SUMMARY: On September 13, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department were dispatched to the Colorado River Medical Center in reference to a report of a patient who was being treated for injuries sustained during a fight.
Deputies arrived on the scene and, through their investigation, discovered Steven Zastrow was involved in a physical altercation with the victim. During the struggle, Zastrow stabbed the victim in the head.
Deputies located Zastrow at a residence in Needles and placed him under arrest without incident. Zastrow was transported and booked into the Colorado River Station jail for a violation of Penal Code 664/187, Attempted Murder with a bail amount of $1,000,000.00, and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department awaiting a court hearing.
