Uptick in scam calls with callers claiming to be Wood County Deputies 
We have been notified of scam calls reaching our residents where the scammer is alleging to be a Wood County Sheriff Deputy and saying they need to discuss an urgent legal matter or that you have an active warrant. Please do not give financial information or detailed personal information out over the phone.
Instructions:
If you feel something is "off" with the call, hang up and contact a known, published number for our dispatch to verify the call. As a reminder, we will never ask for payment, gift cards, or cryptocurrency to resolve a matter!
