Special Weather Statement until 01:00AM Wednesday
A strong storm system is moving across the Pribilof Islands this morning and is expected to continue through the eastern Bering Sea toward Bristol Bay through tonight. The strongest winds and highest wave heights remain on track for this morning. Southwesterly to westerly wind gusts of 55 to 65 mph and wave heights of 15 to 25 ft are expected for the eastern Aleutians, Alaska Peninsula, and Bering side coastal waters for much of the day. Wind gusts could approach 70 mph around Cold Bay and Unimak Island to around Port Heiden this afternoon and evening. Wave heights building to 15 ft are expected near the outer portions of Unalaska Bay late morning through late tonight.
