Contractors and the New Brunswick Water Utility are in the process of making water main connections in the Rutgers Village neighborhood as they complete the Water Main Project. As work is underway today, area residents may experience discoloration and/or low water pressure. The discoloration is normal during this process and the water is safe to consume and use for bathing. Residents should avoid doing laundry during this period to avoid possible discoloration during the laundry process. Residents are recommended to run the cold water for several minutes to minimze the discoloration.
