Wilmington Police are investigating a fatal assault that occurred in the 700 block of Catawba Street.
 
On September 12 at approximately 9:43 a.m., police were dispatched to the 700 block of Catawba Street in reference to a death investigation. Police located a deceased female, who has been identified as 44-year-old Myeshia Triplett.
 
The case was assigned to Detective Justin Kane of the Criminal Investigations Division, and the investigation continued in conjunction with the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences. On September 16, it was determined that she was the victim of a fatal assault.
 
This incident remains under investigation and further details will be released when possible.
