Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to July stabbing incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a July stabbing incident.
On July 28, at approximately 11:00 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1700 block of West 4th Street, in reference to a stabbing incident. Upon arrival, police located a 25-year-old male stabbing victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The case was assigned to Detective John O’Connor of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective O’Connor identified 40-year-old Rafael Pineda as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest. On September 13, Pineda was taken into custody without incident in the 100 block of Maple Hill Road.
Pineda has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
