Join the Community Effort to Transform the Fairfield PAL Teen Center’s Patio into a Wellness Park!

Riley’s Eagle Scout project, "Court 2 Community," is set to transform the Fairfield PAL Teen Center’s patio into an outdoor Wellness Park for teens, and we need your help to make it happen!

The project, taking place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, will kick off the first phase of a larger initiative aimed at creating a vibrant, fun, and rejuvenating outdoor space for Fairfield teens.

What is an Eagle Scout Project?
An Eagle Scout project is a community service initiative planned and executed by a Boy Scout as part of earning the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in scouting. These projects aim to make a lasting, positive impact on communities—just like Riley’s vision to provide Fairfield teens with a dedicated space for health, wellness, and connection….and basketball.  Lots of basketball!

Why an Outdoor Wellness Park Matters:
Teens today face countless challenges, and having a designated outdoor area where they can recharge, stay active, and spend time with friends is crucial for their mental and physical well-being. The park will give teens a space to play basketball, relax, and enjoy the fresh air, all within a safe and positive environment. With your help, we can create this essential resource for local teens!

Volunteers Needed: Become a “Captain” in Our Fun Team Roles!

We’re looking for volunteers with all skill levels to step up and make this transformation a reality. Whether you have a green thumb or just want to help, we’ve got the perfect role for you:
• Tool Captains: Are you handy with tools? Organize, inventory, and teach others how to safely use hand tools to tackle this exciting project. You’ll be the go-to person for making sure everything runs smoothly!
• Landscaping Legends: Love getting your hands dirty? Help us remove weeds and debris to make way for a brand-new park! Your efforts will create a clean canvas for future fun and relaxation.
• Snack Squad: Keep the energy high! Help serve water, snacks, and lunch to keep our hardworking volunteers fueled and hydrated throughout the day. Your contributions will keep the team going strong.
• First Aid & Info Booth Hosts: Are you a great communicator? Host our information booth and ensure everyone has the details they need. You’ll also assist with first aid to make sure everyone stays safe and informed.
No matter your skill set, there’s a place for you in this exciting community event! We’ll provide lunch for those who sign up in advance, and all volunteers will need to fill out a waiver before getting started.

How to Get Involved:
Sign up today by contacting Heather Sanderson at [email protected] or calling 707-249-1379

Come be part of this transformative day that will leave a lasting legacy for teens in our community. Remember to bring your gloves, protective glasses, and a water bottle—and get ready to make a difference!

Waiver Required for Participation:
Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools and protective gear, but we’ll have plenty of team spirit to go around. Let’s make Fairfield an even better place for our youth!
