Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On September 15, at approximately 8:27 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 600 block of West 8th Street, when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police attempted to make contact with the male subject, who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, police took 22-year-old Dawud Pennewell into custody without incident, and recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun.
Pennewell has been charged with the following offenses:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
- Possession of an Unfinished Firearm Frame
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released after posting $11,600 secured bail.
