Pair Charged with Numerous Drug Crimes
Detective Matt Smith with the McDowell County Sheriff's Office Community Impact Team charged 36-year-old Paul Leon Clark Jr., of Marion, with felony Possession of Methamphetamine, misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was given a secured bond of $2,500.
Detective Smith also charged 27-year-old Tequila Cheyenne Queen of Granite Falls with felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance; felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance; and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was given no bond due to being out on pre-trial release for unrelated crimes.
On September 4th, Detective Smith initiated a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection of Jacktown Road and NC 226 South. Following a subsequent search of Clark, the driver of the vehicle, a quantity of suspected marijuana and methamphetamine were recovered. A female officer with Marion Police Department assisted with the search of Queen, and upon doing so a suspected amount of fentanyl was discovered.
