Details:  Officers responded to an alarm activation at the Family Specialty Pharmacy. Upon arrival, the front glass door was found smashed and bricks were found on the ground. The business had been ransacked.  The incident is under investigation.

Details: On Saturday, August 3, 2024, at approximately 3:19 PM, Sgt. Brodowski was dispatched to the West Windsor PD lobby for a theft complaint. The victim reported that while shopping at Home Goods around 2:30 PM, her wallet was stolen from her purse, which was placed in her shopping cart. The victim described the suspects as a male and female, both with darker skin. The male, in his 30’s or 40’s and approximately 5' 05" in height, distracted the victim while the female is believed to have removed the wallet. The victim later received text alerts from her credit card providers about multiple fraudulent purchase attempts at an Apple store and other locations. The victim was advised to cancel her remaining credit cards.

Details: On August 3, 2024, at 1716 hours, Ptl. Connell was dispatched to Famous Footwear for a shoplifting in progress. Dispatch reported two Hispanic males leaving the store with multiple pairs of shoes, placing them into a blue vehicle. The suspects were seen concealing shoes in a large birthday bag and exiting the store without paying. They re-entered the store briefly before leaving again.

Arrested: Elmer G. Salguero De Paz – Resident of Hamilton, NJ
Details: Officer Borup responded to a suspicious person report where the caller believed a male outside the residence was intoxicated. The suspect left the scene in a white pick-up. Officer Borup located the vehicle on Washington Road, conducted a traffic stop, and identified the driver as Elmer G. Salguero De Paz. Salguero De Paz displayed signs of intoxication, and an opened bottle of Don Julio Tequila was found in the vehicle. Sgt. Woodrow and other officers assisted on scene. Ptl. Serrano from Princeton PD served as a translator.  Salguero was arrested for DWI.

Details: While on patrol of Nassau Park Pavilion, Sgt. Brodowski observed Glen Stubs panhandling in the center median of Nassau Park Blvd. Stubs had previously been warned and charged with trespassing for panhandling at the very same location. Stubs was charged again and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

Details: Ptl. Schulte met with the victim who reported her debit cards were stolen. On August 5, while dining at Panera Bread, she found her purse missing and later received fraud notifications totaling approximately $1400.00. She noted two Hispanic males seated behind her; one had his back to her and was wearing a baseball cap despite the hot weather.

Details: On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at approximately 8:53 PM, officers were dispatched to Lowes on US Route 1 in response to a shoplifting incident. According to store employee, two suspects entered the store at 2050 hrs. The suspects, described as a Hispanic male and a Black male, both in their early 20s, were seen loading five chainsaws into a shopping cart, valued at $1,805.00. After being noticed by employees, the suspects abandoned the cart and fled the store on foot, running towards the Container Store before disappearing in an unknown direction.

Details: On Friday, August 16, 2024, at approximately 9:52 PM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in Sherbrook Estates for a reported burglary. The homeowner returned to find a window opened and exited the residence with their family, awaiting police arrival. Upon inspection, officers observed pry marks and fractured glass on a small kitchen window, suggesting a forced entry attempt. However, no signs of theft or ransacking were found inside the residence, and no items appeared to be disturbed or missing. Detectives processed the scene and determined the incident to be an attempted burglary with no successful entry into the home.

Details: On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 3:40 PM, officers were dispatched to Barnes & Noble on US Route 1 for a report of a shoplifting incident. According to assistant managers, the incident occurred on Tuesday, August 13 at approximately 8:55 PM. A white male, approximately 25-35 years old, with long brown hair in a ponytail, entered the store, selected multiple collectible items, including Magic Lord of the Rings Scene and Pokémon boxes, and concealed the packaging in the Graphic Novel section before exiting the store without rendering payment. The total value of the stolen merchandise was $150.96.

Details: On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 3:56 PM, while investigating a previous shoplifting incident, assistant managers reported a second incident involving the same male suspect. On Friday, August 16, at approximately 5:30 PM, the male suspect, described as a white male in his mid-20s to mid-30s with long brown hair in a ponytail, entered the store with a female companion. The male selected Pokémon merchandise from the collectible card section and concealed the packaging in the graphic novel area. The pair exited the store without rendering payment for the stolen items, valued at $64.98.

Details: Patrol Units responded to Target for a shoplifting in progress. Two females were observed by store Loss Prevention selecting and later concealing clothing valued at over $300.00 into a large bag. While exiting the store, Loss Prevention attempted to stop the shoplifters, but they ignored him and kept going. They entered a black colored Jeep with a NJ registration and fled the area. Investigation led to one of the shoplifters being identified as Dyshae Ramos. Ramos surrendered herself to police the next day. She was processed and released pending a future date in Court.

Arrested: Jaquai H. Smith - Resident of Ewing, NJ
Details:  Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 2026 hours: Officer Van Ness was patrolling Nassau Park Pavilion and observed a gray Ford Explorer parked in a handicap space without a placard. The vehicle had an expired registration. The driver, later identified as Jaquai H. Smith, was found to have several outstanding warrants and refused to provide identification. Smith became disruptive, yelling and causing a scene. Additional officers were requested for crowd control. Smith was ultimately arrested and transported to Ewing Township Police Department.

Arrested: Fernando Alvarez Pech - Resident of Trenton, NJ
Details: On August 24, 2024, at 0200 hours, Ptl. Pollini observed a vehicle traveling at 80 MPH in a 45 MPH zone on Old Trenton Road. The vehicle, a Honda, did not stop immediately when she activated her emergency lights. It did stop eventually.  Nine empty Heineken bottles and two cans were found in the vehicle. The driver, Fernando Alvarez Pech, was arrested for DWI.

Details: Patrol Units were detailed to Target for a shoplifting that had just occurred. Ptl. DeMetro arrived to find that Jessina Marsh had already been detained by store Loss Prevention. Investigation found that Marsh selected numerous items which she placed into her shopping cart. She then went to the self-checkout, scanned and paid for $14.70 worth of goods, but failed to scan and pay for $97.05 worth of merchandise. Marsh was processed at WWPD and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.
