Deputies in Rancho Cucamonga Investigate Burglary and Locate Three Suspects Aboard Bus



DATE/TIME: September 13, 2024 / 8:42 P.M.

INCIDENT: PC 182(A)(1)- Conspiracy to Commit a Crime
PC487(A)- Grand Theft
PC459(C)- Commercial Burglary

LOCATION: 8900 block of Foothill Boulevard, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT 1: Mykell Lashawn Hawkins, age 19, a resident of Apple Valley, CA
SUSPECT 2: Male Juvenile 
SUSPECT 3: Male Juvenile 

VICTIM(S): CVS


SUMMARY: On Friday, September 13, 2024, at approximately 8:42 P.M., deputies responded to the 8900 block of Foothill Boulevard in the city of Rancho Cucamonga reference a burglary. The reporting party called dispatch and advised there were three unknown male subjects inside the store concealing items who then exited the store without paying for the merchandise.

Deputies arrived on scene and the subjects were no longer at the location. Through investigation, deputies learned the three subjects fled the location and got on an Omni-Trans bus. With the assistance of Omni-Trans, deputies tracked the location of the bus. Deputies stopped the bus at Foothill Boulevard and Day Creek Boulevard where the three subjects were located and detained. 

Al three suspects were detained. Two of the suspects were found to be juveniles. Both juveniles were cited and released to their parents for burglary. Mykell Hawkins was arrested and booked in at the West Valley Detention Center for PC 182(A)(1)- Conspiracy to Commit a Crime and PC487(A)- Grand Theft.

All stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store. The estimated total value of the merchandise was $2,844.42.
