During the weekend of October 11th-14th, The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety will honor Faith and Blue by hosting a pancake breakfast. This important community outreach will be held on October 12, from 8:00am to 11:00am at Fire Station # 2 located at 5200 Country Club Drive in Rohnert Park. The pancake breakfast is open to the entire community at no charge and several local congregations will be in attendance to share stories about how public safety and places of worship intersect to support the needs of the community during natural disasters and evacuation periods. Among other planned children's activities, Rohnert Park DPS’ new youth Explorer Program designed for 8th through 12th graders will be showcased.
Faith & Blue, which began in 2020 by Movement Forward, Inc and the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), was developed to facilitate safer, stronger, and more unified communities by directly enabling local partnerships among law enforcement, residents, businesses, and community groups through connections of local faith- based organizations. Faith and Blue has become the largest, most consolidated police-community outreach initiative in history, reaching all 50 states; over 1,600 faith-based organizations; and 1000 national, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Faith and Blue celebrations throughout the United States vary in format, as many departments create community service projects, marches, or public gatherings. Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is proud to participate in this year’s 2024 Faith and Blue weekend, which aims to foster unity and trust with the people we protect and serve.
