On Friday (09/20/24) Lake Shore Road will be closed near St. Paul Church due to a large funeral. UPDATE! 
UPDATE:
1. Grosse Pointe Academy will have a half day, closing down campus at Noon.
2. Road closures will start at 11 am instead of noon.
Grosse Pointe Farms Public Safety would like to pass on the following information:
Tomorrow, Friday, September 20th, the funeral for Michigan State Police (MSP) Motor Carrier Officer Daniel Kerstetter will take place at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. The service will last until approximately 3:30 p.m.
Traffic will be diverted from Lake Shore Road from 11:00 am until approximately 4:00 p.m. During the ceremony, Lake Shore Road will be closed entirely to traffic near the church. Expect heavy traffic/parking congestion on Grosse Pointe Boulevard and side streets around the venue. Residents in the area will still be able to access their houses.
Residents should also be aware that a 21-gun salute will be fired, and a low aircraft flyover will occur on the front lawn of St. Paul Church near the conclusion of the funeral.
Grosse Pointe Academy will have a half day.
St. Paul School will not have classes.
Grosse Pointe South H.S. Students and parents are advised to seek alternative routes home from school and avoid GP Blvd.
