There is increasing concern for minor tidal flooding on the northeastern Chesapeake Bay and the tidal Delaware River. Check local Weather
1.For the Delaware Bay, southern shores of the Raritan Bay, Atlantic coasts of New Jersey and Delaware and immediate back bays, at minor tidal flooding is expected for the high tide tonight. Moderate flooding is possible with the high tides Saturday morning and Sunday morning in these locations. A coastal flood advisory has been issued through tonight, with a coastal flood watch in effect for Saturday and Sunday. Flooding along the Back Bays is likely to continue into the work week.
- On the tidal Delaware River, widespread minor flooding is expected with the high tide this afternoon. A coastal flood advisory has been issued for this upcoming high tide and may need to be extended for future high tides.
3.On the northeastern Chesapeake Bay, minor tidal flooding is expected for portions of Talbot, Queen Anne's, and Caroline Counties with the high tide this evening. For Kent County MD, tide levels are expected to remain just below minor flooding thresholds. However, the current coastal flood advisory may need to be expanded and extended as additional tidal flooding is possible through the weekend.
There will be a high risk for rip currents on today, and the high risk is likely to continue through Saturday and Sunday.
