Reminder: Planned First Responder/Active-Shooter Training Today-9/23/2024, from 11am to 1pm, and from 5pm - 7pm.
This is a reminder that a planned first responder training activity will occur from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and again from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. today, Monday, September 23, 2024.
On Monday, September 23, and Friday, September 27, 2024, Fremont Police Department, along with Fremont Fire Department and Ohlone College Police Department, will jointly conduct an Active Shooter Training Exercise at Ohlone College. Each training day will include two large-scale Active Shooter/Dangerous Intruder Scenario Exercises.
Each training day will involve two sessions: a morning session from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and an evening session from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The training involves many first responders, medical, fire, and police vehicles, and limited occasional pyrotechnics may be used. Simulation shots may be heard during the training exercise. Please do not be alarmed by the large presence of law enforcement officers in the area. We do not anticipate any disruptions to adjacent businesses and residents. This crucial training allows first responders to gain valuable knowledge and skills that will help keep our community safe. We appreciate your understanding, and the training is structured to limit the impact on the surrounding community.
