ONE INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH 
Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on September 21, 2024, at approximately 1658 Hours, his Deputies responded to a motorcycle crash, on Mt. Zion St. near Kessington Rd., Calvin Township, Cass County, Michigan.
The initial investigation showed that a motorcycle driven by Charles Allen (68 YO of Vandalia, MI) was traveling Westbound on Mt. Zion St. when he struck a deer in the roadway. Allen was ejected off of the motorcycle. Allen was transported to by SMCAS ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for his injuries.
Allen was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the traffic crash.
Assisting agencies on scene were Penn Fire and SMCAS Ambulance.
