1. Pursuit Arrest (1958) Hammer Lane and West Lane, Valley Oak District
Officers attempted an enforcement stop near the listed area, though the driver failed to yield leading officers in a pursuit. The vehicle was disabled, and the driver was taken into custody without further incident. ARRESTED: Rana Thong, 57, for felony evading and traffic charges.
2. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2111) 1000 Block of North Center Street, Civic District
Three victims were inside their home when the armed suspect forced his way into their apartment. The suspect pushed one victim out of the apartment while holding the two victims inside. When a neighbor attempted to help the victims, the suspect shot at him, but he did not get hit. The suspect eventually surrendered to officers and was taken into custody without incident. There were no reported injuries. ARRESTED: Jose Espinoza, 24, for weapon violations, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment,
and negligent discharge.
3. Armed Carjacking (2200) 3400 Block of West Hammer Lane, Valley Oak District
The male victim, 28, was in the area of the call location when the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim's property. The victim complied, and the suspect left in the victim's vehicle. SUSPECT: Black male adult wearing all black clothing.
