Detectives Investigating Death of Unidentified Female near I-10 and Wildwood Canyon in Yucaipa

LOCATION: Desert Area near I-10 and Wildwood Canyon Road, Yucaipa
VICTIM(S): Unidentified Adult Female
SUMMARY: On Sunday, September 22, 2024, at approximately 9:12 a.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Sheriff’s Station responded to a medical aid call in a desert area near I-10 and Wildwood Canyon Road. The family of a female, reported missing from Riverside County, were conducting a search of the area when they discovered a deceased female. Deputies were not aware of the search prior to receiving the medical aid call and responded promptly. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded to the scene and began an investigation. Positive identification of the deceased and the manner of death have not been determined. An autopsy will be conducted, and additional information will be released when available.
