911 call of a disturbance leads to arrest of Princeton man for DUI.

On September 22, 2024, at 6:25 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a disturbance in the area of State Road 168 and Us 41 in Fort Branch.  The reporting party was able to give a detailed description of each vehicle and Fort Branch Town Marshal Darrell Parker was conducted a traffic stop on Black 2004 Chevy S10.  Deputy Eric Powell arrived in the area and conducted a traffic stop on the other party who was in a Maroon SUV approximately 200 yards from the original traffic stop.  At that point Deputy Powell began an investigation into the disturbance that was reported.  While speaking with both parties Deputy Powell detected clues that the drivers may be impaired.  At that point he began a roadside DUI investigation.  At the conclusion of his investigation he placed the driver of the S10, 24 year old Duncan Thomas of Princeton into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail.  Upon arriving at the jail Mr. Thomas was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. 
 
Assisting Deputy Powell in his investigation was Fort Branch Town Marshal Darrell Parker, Indiana Conservation Officer Ryan McIntyre, and Deputy Quinten Might.
 
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
