Marion Man Charged with Controlled Substance on Jail Premises
Detective David Jones with McDowell Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged Christopher Jaren Forney of Marion with felony Possession of Methamphetamine and felony Possession of a Controlled Substance on Prison or Jail Premises. He was given no bond due to being out on pre-trial release for unrelated charges.
On September 13, detectives conducted a traffic stop on Forney for driving on a suspended license. Upon a search of the vehicle, detectives found drug paraphernalia.
Forney was transported to the McDowell County Jail and upon booking, detention staff discovered methamphetamine on his person.
