UPDATE: Market Street Improvements: Phase 2 Transit Hub

To expedite the completion of the work to Water Street the following changes will be made to the sequence of work being performed.

Beginning Thursday 9/26, there will be a set of gates added at the entrance of Water St. at Chestnut St. and access will be limited to emergency vehicles and prearranged deliveries only. After gates have been installed the concrete barriers will be removed.

Beginning Monday 9/30,  the remainder of granite curbing, and brick pavers will be removed and preparation for the installation of new granite curbs and streetlight bases will begin at the northwest corner of the road from the Yellow Deli to the east.

Tuesday 10/8 installation of the new granite curbs will begin starting on Chestnut St. and working towards Water St. anticipating a 12:00pm start on the south side of Water St. working west to east and completing on the north side of the road working east to west
completing at the Yellow Deli. This work is anticipated to be completed in 2 days’ time.

At the completion of this installation, the preparation of sidewalks will begin, on Monday 10/14 the sidewalk installation will start at the northwest corner of Water St. at the Yellow Deli to the east. This work is anticipated to be completed in 3 days’ time.

When complete preparation will begin for asphalt pavement. The week of 10/21 Asphalt pavement will be placed in the roadway, followed directional signage and striping. Peripheral work will continue with landscaping to the south side of the roadway and
miscellaneous placement of benches and other specialty items.

We are anticipating the completion of work on Water St. to be mid-November.

Updates to this PSA will be issued as needed.
