REMINDER: Hoboken Fall Arts & Music Festival is Sunday

The City of Hoboken reminds residents that the 2024 Hoboken Fall Arts & Music Festival will take place this Sunday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Washington Street between Observer Highway and Seventh Street. The event will feature over 300 artists, vendors, and live music on two stages. Due to the festival, road closures on Washington Street and adjacent east/west streets will begin at 5 a.m., with roads reopening after clean-up is complete, which is anticipated by 9 p.m. No Parking signs have been posted, and NJ Transit buses will be detoured from Washington Street onto Hudson and Bloomfield Streets. Residents are urged to follow parking restrictions and consider using mass transit.

Mayor Ravi Bhalla and the Office of Constituent Services announce clothing drive for the Ortiz Family

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla and the Office of Constituent Services have organized a donation drive to assist the Ortiz family, who lost their home and belongings in a fire at Clock Towers. Donations of new or clean and gently used clothing (women’s size small) and shoes (women’s sizes 7 and 8) can be dropped off at City Hall through October 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please enter via Newark Street.

Community meeting on Madison Street infrastructure upgrades announced

The City of Hoboken invites residents to attend a community meeting on Monday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in the community room at ResilienCity Park to discuss Phase II of the Madison Street Infrastructure Project in partnership with the North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA).

The project will upgrade sewers, roadways, curbs, and sidewalks near Ninth and Madison Streets. These upgrades will replace inlets, elevate roadways, and direct rainfall into the sewer system to mitigate rainfall  flooding.The project will also include water main upgrades as part of Hoboken's ongoing Water Main Replacement Project.

Construction is expected to begin in October 2024 and be completed by June 2025.
