How to Report Issues with Your Water
We have received reports from various areas around town that residents are experiencing discoloration in their water. In order to help us better track and diagnose these issues, we would like your help in reporting them. Please note, discoloration is caused by elevated levels of iron in the water, which does not pose any health risks. The water is tested regularly and is safe. Additional hydrant flushing may be needed in areas where discoloration is present. In addition to the Water Department, the Borough also works with two different engineering firms and consultants to address all these issues.
If you are experiencing discoloration in your water or any other issues like an odor or foul taste, please reach out to 201-652-5300 ext. 240, Monday-Friday between 8:30am-4:00pm. Outside of those hours, any non-emergency calls about these issues should be reported to 201-652-5300 ext. 204. Please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
If you are experiencing a water emergency outside of business hours (severe drop in water pressure, no water, or notice an outdoor leak), please call Police Dispatch at 201-652-5700.
You can also submit a report by emailing the Borough Administrator at [email protected] at any time.
Thank you for your help and patience in identifying these issues.
