Significant flooding is expected along the French Broad River Valley. Impacts are expected to exceed those from the 2004 storms Francis & Ivan and potentially exceed the Flood of 1916. Residents within the 500-year floodplain in Etowah, Mills River and Fletcher should make plans to evacuate as the river is expected to continue to rise over the next 24 hours.
