Tornado Warning until 08:45PM Thursday

TORJAX The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a

* Tornado Warning for... East central Camden County in southeastern Georgia... Glynn County in southeastern Georgia...

* Until 845 PM EDT.

* At 815 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Jekyll Island, or 8 miles south of St. Simons Island, moving northwest at 50 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near... Brunswick, St. Simons Island, and St Simons Island Village around 820 PM EDT. Dock Junction and Country Club Estates around 825 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Boys Estate.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CAMDEN, GA ... GLYNN, GA

Instructions:

Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night. Do not wait to see or hear the tornado. TAKE COVER NOW! To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Jacksonville. If on or near Saint Simons Sound, get away from the water and move to safe shelter immediately. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Severe thunderstorms can produce large capsizing waves, even on small bodies of water. Move into dock and seek safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
