City of Galax and Surrounding areas are under a state of emergency due to the weather. SHELTER IN PLACE. There is several power outages and trees down. VDOT, AEP, Fire Depts etc. Units are working as hard and fast as they can. DO NOT CALL 911/PD/Sheriffs TO ASK FOR ESTIMATED TIME OF RESTORATION/ REMOVAL OF TREES.
