Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Aggravated Assault Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the pictured suspect who was captured on surveillance video assaulting a food delivery worker on September 15, 2024.
Police Officers responded to the incident at Taco Bell in the 300 block of Broad Street, where the worker had gone at approximately 9:30 p.m. to pick up a DoorDash order.
As he waited for the order, a man driving a gray sedan pulled up and said something to the worker before exiting the vehicle to confront him. The driver shoved the worker and punched him in the mouth, causing him to fall to the ground. After the attack, the suspect drove away southbound on Broad Street in the vehicle with three passengers, one male and two females.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
