 A suspect stole almost $3,000 of merchandise from Target and fought with police is arrested.
 
San Mateo, CA – On September 26, 2024, at 11:16 p.m., San Mateo Police Department received a call from an employee of Target, located at Bridgepointe Shopping Center.  The employee was a Loss Prevention Agent who had witnessed a suspect, later identified as Kristen Martin-Boileau, steal items from the store.        
 
Officers immediately responded to the call and found Martin-Boileau in front of Target with two shopping carts filled with items.  As officers attempted to detain Martin-Boileau, she became aggressive.  Officers were able to safely place Martin-Boileau in handcuffs.  When officers were attempting to have Martin-Boileau sit in the back of a patrol car, she became violent and kicked an officer in the leg.
 
Once Martin-Boileau was safely detained in a patrol vehicle, officers were able to investigate the crime.  Officers learned Martin-Boileau had stolen approximately $2,903 of merchandise from Target.  The stolen merchandise was return to Target.  Martin-Boileau was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail.        
 
We need the community’s support in reporting crimes and being a good witness.  If you witness a crime, contact police immediately.  Try to remain as calm as possible and do your best to answer questions on the phone.  Remember details such as the suspect’s appearance, clothing, any distinguishing features, and which direction they flee. Once the police arrive at the scene, cooperate fully, and provide the officers with all the information you have.  Your observations can greatly assist law enforcement in their investigation.

Kristen Martin-Boileau, 35-year-old San Mateo resident.
 
CHARGES:
460(b) PC- Second degree burglary, 69(a) PC- Felony resisting a police officer.
